A good size chart reduces returns, but building one by hand is slow. Every measurement goes into its own cell, units have to match, and a store with hundreds of products needs dozens of size guides that all stay up to date.

Jotly AI takes the typing out of it. Open AI on any part of your size chart, say what you want ("sort the sizes", "convert to centimetres", "add a Kids tab") and the change appears right away in the builder. You review it, undo it if you don't like it, and save when you're happy.

It works inside the Jotly Size Chart app for Shopify, in the same builder you already use, so there's nothing new to learn.

Four ways to use AI in Jotly

Edit any block with AI

Every table, text, tabs and fit scale block in the size chart builder has its own AI button, with suggestions for that block. Here's what you can ask, and what AI takes care of for you.

Size tables

The table is the heart of a size chart, and the most work to keep right. Ask AI to reorganise it, fix it or extend it, and every row stays the same length as the headers.

Try asking
  • “Hide the units from the table”
  • “Sort the sizes from smallest to largest”
  • “Move the Length column before Chest”
  • “Add a 3XL row, 2 inches bigger than 2XL”
  • “Convert the values to centimetres”
  • “Turn off the unit switcher”
What AI takes care of

Unit conversion done properly

"Convert to centimetres" converts every value, sets the table's unit to centimetres, updates units written in the headers, and lets customers still switch back to inches.

Settings that belong together change together

Hiding the units also turns off the unit switcher, because hidden units only apply when customers can't switch. Turning the switcher back on shows the units again.

Your measurements stay yours

AI only changes numbers when you ask it to, for example to convert them or to add a size from figures you give it.

Text

Measuring instructions, fit notes and care advice help customers pick the right size. Ask AI to write them, rewrite them or restyle them.

Try asking
  • “Write a short guide on how to measure your chest”
  • “Make the heading bold and dark green”
  • “Make this shorter and friendlier”
  • “Turn this into a bullet list”
  • “Show this text only on mobile”
What AI takes care of

Restyle without rewriting

Changing colours, sizes, bold or alignment keeps your words exactly as they are. Rewording keeps the styling that still fits.

Written for your store

New text is written in the language your size chart is already in, unless you ask for another one.

Safe formatting only

AI uses plain formatting (headings, lists, bold, colours, links) and keeps any images you already added. It never adds images or code.

Tabs

Tabs keep a size guide tidy: a size table in one tab, measuring instructions in another. Ask AI to reorganise them, or build a whole tab layout in one go.

Tabs are included in the Essentials plan and above.

Try asking
  • “Add a tab called Kids at the end”
  • “Rename the first tab to Men”
  • “Move the last tab to the front”
  • “Move the table into the second tab”
  • “Put a size table in Size chart and a fit scale in Measurement Guide”
What AI takes care of

Several changes in one request

Ask for a table in one tab, measuring instructions under it and a fit scale in another, and AI builds all of it at once. Typos and informal wording are fine.

Your images are safe

Images and videos inside a tab can be moved to another tab or reordered, but AI never changes them.

Everything inside follows the same rules

Tables, text and fit scales inside a tab get the same smart changes as on their own.

Fit scale

A fit scale shows customers whether an item runs small, true to size or large. Ask AI to relabel it, restyle it or move the marker.

The size scale bar is included in the Essentials plan and above.

Try asking
  • “Change the labels to Tight, Fitted, Relaxed”
  • “Make the bar green and use the pill marker”
  • “This item runs true to size”
  • “Highlight the middle label”
  • “Use the segments style”
What AI takes care of

Say how it fits

"This item runs true to size" moves the marker to that label, so you don't have to work out the position yourself.

Highlights follow their label

Reorder or remove labels and the highlighted label stays on the one you chose.

Every style and colour

Switch between the line, segments, dots, blocks and gradient styles, change the marker and pick any colour.

How editing with AI works

  1. 1

    Click AI on a block

Every table, text, tabs and fit scale block in the size chart builder has an AI button.

  2. 2

    Say what you want

Type the change in your own words, or pick one of the suggestions for that block.

  3. 3

    See it straight away

The block updates in the builder, with a short summary of what changed.

  4. 4

    Undo or save

Not what you wanted? Undo it in one click. Nothing goes live until you save the size chart.

Import a size table from anywhere

Most size charts already exist somewhere: in a supplier's PDF, a spreadsheet or your product descriptions. The table importer brings them into Jotly without retyping a single value.

Paste from anywhere

Copy a size table from Excel, Google Sheets, a PDF, a supplier's website, Word or an email and paste it in. Jotly works out the columns itself, whether they're separated by tabs, commas, semicolons, pipes or spaces.

AI fixes what doesn't fit

If the paste is too messy to read, for example one value per line from a PDF, AI rebuilds it as a table and shows you a preview before anything changes.

Import from a product description

Pick a product and Jotly finds the size chart in its description. A description with a real table is read instantly without AI; one written as text or a list is turned into a table by AI.

Values copied exactly

Sizes and measurements are copied as they're written. Nothing is rounded, converted or made up.

You stay in control

  • Nothing is saved until you save the size chart, and every change can be undone.
  • AI never invents measurements. It only adds numbers you give it or ask it to calculate.
  • AI never adds images or videos, and never changes the ones you already have.
  • Every change is checked before it's applied: anything that isn't safe, plain formatting is refused.
  • Settings that depend on your plan are never changed by AI.
  • If AI can't do something with a block, it tells you why and suggests what to do instead.

How AI usage works

Your plan includes a monthly allowance of AI uses, which resets at the start of each billing period.

Every AI panel shows how many uses you have left and when they reset.

If you run out, AI pauses until your allowance resets. You can keep editing your size charts by hand, and upgrading your plan gives you more.

Counts as one AI use

  • •Each change AI makes to a block
  • •Each table AI builds from a messy paste or a product description

Never counts

  • •Pastes Jotly can read without AI
  • •Product descriptions that already contain a table
  • •Requests AI declines, and attempts that fail
  • •Undoing a change

Common questions about Jotly AI

Is there an AI size chart generator for Shopify?

Yes. Jotly Size Chart lets you build and edit Shopify size charts with AI. Describe a change to a table, text, tabs or fit scale block and AI makes it, or paste a size table from anywhere and AI turns it into a clean table.

Which parts of a size chart can AI edit?

Size tables, text, tabs and fit scales. Each block has its own AI button and its own suggestions. AI can't add images or videos.

Will AI change my measurements?

Only when you ask it to, for example to convert the values to centimetres or to add a size from figures you give it. It never makes up measurements.

Is the change saved straight away?

No. The change appears in the builder so you can check it. You can undo it in one click, and nothing goes live on your store until you save the size chart.

Can I write my request with typos or several changes at once?

Yes. Write the way you normally would. AI works out what you mean and makes every change you asked for, even across several blocks inside tabs.

What counts as an AI use?

Each change AI makes to a block, and each table AI builds from a paste or a product description. Requests AI declines, failed attempts, pastes Jotly reads without AI and undoing a change don't count.

What happens when I run out of AI uses?

AI pauses until your allowance resets at the start of your next billing period. You can still edit everything by hand, and upgrading your plan gives you more AI uses.

Can I import a size chart from a PDF or a supplier's website?

Yes. Copy the table and paste it into the table importer. Jotly reads the columns itself, and if the text is too messy, AI rebuilds the table and shows you a preview first.

What's the difference between Jotly AI and the AI assistant (MCP)?

Jotly AI works inside the size chart builder, one block at a time. The AI assistant connects ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor to your store through MCP, so you can create and manage many size guides from a chat. The AI assistant is included in the Enterprise plan.
