How to convert cm to inches
Divide the number of centimetres by 2.54. For example, 90 cm ÷ 2.54 = 35.4 inches. To go the other way, multiply inches by 2.54: a 32 inch waist is 32 × 2.54 = 81.3 cm.
Converting clothing measurements
- Round sensibly. Size charts usually round to the nearest 0.5 cm or 1/4 inch.
- Check what was measured. A "chest width" of 52 cm on a flat-lay chart is one side of the garment. The full chest circumference is twice that.
- Waist sizes on jeans are usually in inches, even in countries that use centimetres for everything else.
