Size grading
Scaling a garment's base pattern up and down to make the other sizes, using set increments called grade rules.
A pattern is usually made in one base size, then graded to the rest of the size range. Grade rules set how much each measurement changes between sizes, for example a few centimetres of chest per size.
Grading is why measurements in a size chart usually step up in a steady pattern from size to size.
