How to connect Cursor to Jotly

You can connect Cursor to Jotly and manage your size guides by chatting with it. Once connected, you can ask Cursor to create a size guide, update one, change which products it shows on, or find out why a size guide is not showing on your store. This guide shows you how to connect it. It takes about 1 minute.

Heads up

Connecting an AI assistant is available on the Jotly Enterprise plan.

Before you start

  • The Cursor code editor must be installed on your computer
  • Keep Cursor open during the whole process. Do not close it until you see that it is connected

Step 1: Click Add to Cursor in Jotly

  1. Open the Jotly app and click on AI Assistants in the menu
  2. Click Connect next to Cursor
  3. Click the Add to Cursor button

This opens the Cursor editor on your computer, with all the Jotly details already filled in.

Note

If your browser asks for permission to open Cursor, allow it. If nothing happens, open Cursor first and then click Add to Cursor again.

Step 2: Click Install in Cursor

In Cursor, you will see the Jotly details filled in for you. Click the Install button.

Step 3: Click Authenticate

After installing, click the Authenticate button in Cursor.

Your browser opens a Jotly page and asks for your store domain and a connect code. Keep this page open, you will fill it in after the next step.

Step 4: Get your store domain and connect code from Jotly

Go back to the Jotly app, to the same Connect Cursor page you opened in Step 1.

  1. Scroll to the step that shows your store domain
  2. Click Generate connect code. A code appears below your store domain
Note

The connect code works one time and expires after 10 minutes. If it expires before you use it, click Generate a new code to get a fresh one.

Step 5: Enter the details and allow access

Go back to the Jotly page that opened in your browser in Step 3.

  1. Paste your store domain in the Store domain field
  2. Paste the connect code in the Connect code field
  3. Click Allow access

Step 6: Open Cursor when your browser asks

After you click Allow access, your browser asks if it can open Cursor. Click Open Cursor. This step is needed to finish the connection, so do not skip it.

Works

That's it. Cursor is now connected to Jotly. Refresh the AI Assistants page in Jotly and you will see Cursor under Connected.

What you can ask Cursor

Open the chat in Cursor and ask in your own words. Here are a few examples:

  • "List my size guides"
  • "Create a size guide for men's t-shirts with sizes S to XL"
  • "Turn off unit conversion in my jeans size guide"
  • "Show the shirts size guide on all products with the tag summer"
  • "Add a how to measure section to all my size guides"
  • "Why is my size guide not showing on my store?"
Note

Cursor can create and update your size guides, but it can never delete one. To delete a size guide, use the Jotly app.

Good to know

  • A connection works for 30 days. After that, open AI Assistants in Jotly and click Renew next to it. You do not need to set anything up again
  • To remove access, open AI Assistants in Jotly, open Cursor under Connected and click Disconnect
  • Each person on your team can connect their own Cursor. Every connection shows who connected it

Something not working?

  • Add to Cursor did nothing: open Cursor first, then click the button again
  • The connect code is not accepted: check that the store domain matches the one shown in Jotly. A code works once and expires after 10 minutes, so generate a new one and try again
  • Cursor still shows that it needs authentication: you may have closed Cursor during the process, or skipped the Open Cursor prompt in Step 6. Click Authenticate again and repeat Steps 4 to 6 with a new connect code
  • Cursor does not use Jotly in a chat: use Agent mode. Jotly tools are not available in Ask mode
