Size charts for lingerie and swimwear stores on Shopify
Bras, underwear and swimwear are sized by the body. Show band and cup sizes with clear steps for measuring the underbust, bust and hips.
Lingerie and swimwear are worn close to the body, so a size that's slightly off is felt straight away. Bras add a second dimension: a band size and a cup size, worked out from two different measurements, with cup letters that are named differently from country to country.
Shoppers usually measure themselves before buying these products, so clear, step-by-step measuring instructions matter as much as the numbers in the table.
What your size chart needs
Band and cup sizes
Bras are sized by band (the underbust) and cup (the difference between bust and underbust). Show both, and say which country's sizing you use.
Step-by-step measuring
Shoppers measure themselves for these products, so clear steps for the underbust, bust, waist and hips matter more than for most clothing.
Separate sizes for tops and bottoms
Bikini tops and bottoms are often sold in separate sizes. Give each its own chart.
What to measure, product by product
The measurements in each of our free templates for lingerie and swimwear stores. Use them as a starting point, then replace the numbers with measurements from your own products.

Measurements that matter
The number in a bra size, such as the 34 in 34C, based on the measurement around the ribcage under the bust.
The letter in a bra size, such as the C in 34C, based on the difference between the bust and underbust measurements.
The fullest part of the chest, used for sizing women's tops, dresses and bras.
The widest part of the hips and seat, measured around the body or across the garment.
The distance from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband, which decides where pants sit on the body.
Measurements of the person a size is meant for, such as chest, waist and hip circumference.
Common mistakes to avoid
Numbers without measuring steps
"34B" means nothing to a shopper who doesn't know their underbust and bust. Explain where to put the tape for each measurement.
Not saying which country's sizing
Cup letters after D differ between the US, UK and Europe, and European band sizes are in centimetres. Say which system the chart uses, or show several.
One chart for tops and bottoms
Bikini tops and bottoms are often sold in separate sizes. Combining them in one chart makes both harder to read.
Ignoring stretch
Swimwear and shapewear fabrics stretch by design. Tell shoppers whether to size down for a firmer fit or stay with their usual size.

Learn more →Common questions
Are US and UK bra sizes the same?
Band sizes match, but cup letters after D are named differently in the US and UK. Say which system your chart uses.
Should swimwear use the same chart as lingerie?
Often not. Swimwear fits differently, and bikini tops and bottoms may be sized separately, so a dedicated swimwear chart is clearer.
How do you measure band size?
Wrap the tape snugly around the ribcage directly under the bust, keeping it level all the way round. That underbust measurement is the basis of the band size.
How is cup size worked out?
From the difference between the bust measurement (around the fullest part) and the underbust. In US and UK sizing, each inch of difference is roughly one cup size; in European sizing, each cup step is about 2 cm.
What are sister sizes?
Sizes with roughly the same cup volume on a different band. Going down one band size and up one cup, for example from 34C to 32D, keeps a similar cup. Mentioning sister sizes helps shoppers whose usual size is out of stock.
